Homework for 10/29/10

English 7 - No homework. Rough drafts of poems will be due Thursday.

English 8 - No homework. We will be in the lab one more day to type our plays.

English 9 - Finish questions for "There Will Come Soft Rains," if needed.


**AR goals have been set for the 2nd 9-weeks. Students can check these under their AR accounts. 1/2 of their goal is due November 19.

**There is a home academic team match Thursday against Mason County. There will probably be practice on Wednesday.

There is no school Monday and Tuesday. I hope everyone has a restful 4-day weekend!

English 9 - Finish Questions Pg. 73 CT 1-7 & LF 1-2. Write spelling words three times each, if needed, and study for test.


*Academic Team practice tomorrow from 3-4pm.

* The Halloween Social (Fall Festival) is tomorrow from 5-8pm in the gym.

Homework for 10/26/10

English 7 - If needed, complete questions: (Pg. 783 CYC 1-3, 784 CYC 1-4, and 786 LF 1-3). Finish sound devices and symbol worksheets.

English 8 - Students need to define each spelling word (due Thursday). Students who scored below a 70% on last week's spelling test need to write this week's words 3 times each (due Friday).

English 9-2 - No homework.

English 9-7 - Spelling sentences are due Thursday.


**All after school practices were cancelled today, but the tournament will go on as scheduled. Augusta plays at 5:30.

English 7 - If needed, finish questions: Pg. 169 - CT 1, 2, & 8; 171 CYC 1-2; and 176 LF 1 & 3. Also, write each spelling word in a sentence.

English 8 - No homework.

English 9 - Finish Shakespeare worksheet. Complete "The Most Dangerous Games" Questions: Pg. 32 LF 1-3. On page 33, students choose one of the following: #1 (1/2 page), #6, or #7. These assignments are due Thursday. .... Spelling sentences for this week's list are due by Friday.


* There is an assembly scheduled for tomorrow at 1:00pm. A Midsummer Night's Dream is being performed for students.

*MS Academic Team practice tomorrow from 3:00 - 4:00pm.

*There will be MS academic team practice Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00pm.

Homework for 10/18/10

I was not in the building today, but this is the work the substitute should have assigned.

English 7 - If needed, complete questions on page 84: CT 3-5 and pg. 85 LF 1-3.

English 8 - Finish rough draft of play. Must be 4 pages. These are due at the beginning of class Tuesday.

English 9 - Complete Suspense worksheet (pg. 9 only)

All classes received a spelling list and will have a test Friday. I will try to post the spelling list for each class on my school website - www.augustaschools.net/tlitteral.
7th grade will have a test Friday over the poetry and terms we study this week.


* Tuesday morning, the MS academic team will meet at 7:30 in Mr. Litteral's room. Donuts and juice/milk will be provided. There will be practice Thursday after school from 3:00 - 4:00pm.

7th Grade - Finish questions over the poems, if needed. Be sure to begin bringing textbooks daily.

8th Grade - Students may choose to work on the rough drafts of their plays. These will be due at the end of class on Monday.

9th Grade - No homework. Begin bringing your textbook everyday beginning Monday.


* The 2nd 9-weeks begins Monday. AR also starts over. Students will receive their AR goals within the next couple of weeks.

* Tuesday morning, the MS academic team will meet at 7:30 in Mr Litteral's room.

Homework & Madness for 10/14/10

All classes need to study for their spelling tests tomorrow.

English 9 also needs to be prepared for their test over personal writing and subject-verb agreement.


**Midnight Madness is tomorrow night. The festivities begin at 7:00pm with a tailgate party and pig roast. There is no cost for the tailgate party in the parking lot of to get into Midnight Madness. There will be a charge for those purchasing a plate at the pig roast. There will be games, music, etc for the entire family. Please come out to kick-off Panther and Lady Panther basketball!!

Announcements

I hope everyone has had a restful Fall Break!

There is an away Academic match on Monday at Lewis County. Students need to be at school at 3:45 wearing the Academic shirts and khakis! There will be a meeting/practice Tuesday morning at 7:30. Donuts and juice will be provided. There will probably be practice on Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00, but I will let students know for sure once we return.

Friday, October 15, is the end of the first 9-weeks. AR points are also due that day. Students who are concerned about their grade can stay after school on Tuesday. Friday evening is also Midnight Madness. There are plans to expand this event, making it more exciting and beginning earlier. We hope to see you there!
