Another year has come and gone. It seems like it went rather quickly. I have enjoyed my classes this year. I hope everyone has a fun, relaxing summer break.

Prom Weekend!

Testing & Annoucements

Over the next two weeks, Augusta Independent students will be taking the annual state "CATS" Test. This will disrupt the regular schedule and limit my time with some classes. There will be no spelling during this period, and I would not expect any homework.

Please be sure students get a good nights sleep and are at school and on time every day. The school will be providing free breakfast to all students on testing days (April 26-29 & May 03-05).


* Yearbook orders are currently being taken. The cost on $30.

* Midterms will be sent home on Friday, April 29.

Weekend Update

No classes had homework this weekend. However, because of the the assembly during 6th period, 8th grade did not have their spelling test. We will take the test on Monday, so students need to study!

First, I apologize for not making regular posts the last 2-3 weeks. I have been out of the district several days and have been under the weather some. I hope to get back on track this week!

Report cards will be sent home Friday.

The sophmore class will hold a dance this Friday, March 25. It will be from 7-11pm for students in grades 7-12. My students will receive 20 bonus points for attending. Admission is $3 and concessions will be sold.

My apologies for not making regular posts the last couple of weeks. Between being out of town and basketball post-season, I have been very busy.

Just a reminder, English 9-7 will have their spelling test tomorrow since we had a pep rally Friday.

Snow Day

We have a snow day today, but there will still be a game tonight against Bishop Brossart. JV begins at 6:00 with the varsity to follow. My students who attend the game will receive bonus points!!


Also, 8th grade students need to continue reading their books for the upcoming book report project. We will begin the project next Tuesday, Feb. 15, so you need to finish the book by then!

Remember, there is no school Monday, January 17, for Martin Luther King Day. Report cards for the 2nd 9-weeks will be sent home Tuesday.

Jan. 18 - Governor's Cup Composition Writing at Harrison Co. MS. Bus leaves at 3:45. Bring money for dinner. Should be back around 8:00.

Snow Day!

Once again, there will be no school on Wednesday due to weather! Grades are due from teachers on Thursday afternoon, and report cards will be distributed to students on Friday. If you would like to know your grade, e-mail me at timothy.litteral@augusta.kyschools.us. I will need any make-up/late work first thing Thursday morning, but I cannot guarantee I will be able to get it graded before grades are due.

Just a reminder, 7th and 8th graders have spelling sentences due on Thursday. If you forgot your list at school, go to my school website - www.augustaschools.net/tlitteral. 9th graders need to be prepared to present their historical projects on Thursday.

Also, if we are in school on Thursday, there will be middle school academic team practice from 3:00 to 4:00pm.

I hope everyone had a restful break! It's time to come back ready to work, as we have much to accomplish before testing. Spelling words have been posted on my website for this week. 7th grade will be working on revising articles they wrote last year. 8th grade will be writing persuasive letters. Freshmen will finish up their research papers and begin reading Of Mice & Men. Below are some upcoming important dates:
